Technical Manager

Summary

We have a unique opportunity for a Technical Manager to oversee all technical matters for this importer/producer of value added products.

Job Description

Supplying most of the major retailers, this business is well renowned for its value added products. With production facilities overseas, this business has forged strong links with retailers in many countries.

This role is based in the UK (with 20% overseas travel) and will have sole responsibility for the customer relationship as well as technical excellence. The responsibilities for this role are as follows:

• Responsible of the compliance management system and report to the General Manager
• Liaise with customers’ for factory visits and audits and actions follow-up.
• Audit standards: BRC, Customer’s COP.
• Liaise both the UK customers and the manufacturing site on complaints and quality related queries
• Ensure an effective monitoring on the manufacturing site and suppliers through regular visits and audits, and effective quality system.
• Keep up to date with the latest legal requirement via membership through Food Safety authorities and provide legal advice to manufacturing site QA team
• Product specification management
• Artwork and packaging management

The key remit is forging strong relationships with the retailers but also being technically very able as this is a stand-alone position. As the UK operation is small, this will be the key focus area and the face of the business and so a large degree of commercial acumen will be required.
