Reporting to the Group Health and Safety Manager you will undertake a wide range of duties including audits, accident investigations, fire safety and general risk assessments across the stores Northern region.

With a growing manufacturing base and further stores under re-development or due to open, our client is now looking to further strengthen the team with the appointment of a Group Health & Safety Officer
Reporting to the Group Health and Safety Manager you will undertake a wide range of duties including audits, accident investigations, fire safety and general risk assessments across the stores Northern region.
Responsibilities will include:
- Provide competent person advice and assistance to stores within the region in relation to health and safety and fire safety.
- Implementing the health and safety management system in the stores.
- Day-to-day operation within the Retail Health and Safety Team to ensure that all performance targets are met particularly responses to enforcement of correspondence and accident investigations.
- Maintain a year-on-year colleague and customer accident rate reduction within the region to improve business efficiency and reduce business costs.
- Identification of accident trends and trends from audit outcomes and the implementation of successful programmes of positive action to resolve issues.
- Delivery of management training courses
The ideal candidate will be an Environmental Health Practitioner or have a suitable health and safety qualification such as the NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent and experience in managing health and safety across multiple sites. Enforcement experience would be an advantage.You will be enthusiastic and flexible with excellent communication, investigative organising skills and a high degree of self-motivation.
