Job Description

Our client is a large successful FMCG food manufacturer. As the successful candidate you will get to see both sides of this branded and own label business, supplying all major retailers in the UK and abroad. Currently our client is looking for a Logistics Manager who has a proven track record.

To manage the physical UK and International logistics chain for a FTSE 100 Food Manufacturer through a warehouse team ensuring safety 1st, service excellence, effective controls and management of costs.

Key Accountabilities:

• Safe Working Environment

• 3PL Management, UK and International working with Central Logistics
• Stock Integrity and Management
• Warehouse & Logistics Budget
• Systems, Controls & BCP (business continuity planning)
• Working with the Site Manager and the rest of the Site Leadership Team

Key Responsibilities:

• To ensure team and own compliance with all Health and Safety processes and procedures whilst always seeking improvement and optimum safety practice, including all aspects of 3PL movement and storage..
• To ensure the daily operation meets all demands, including customers orders, vehicle loading, goods inwards receipts, cycle counting and routine safety checks.
• Develop and implement “World Class” Logistics processes and create a culture of continuous improvement
• Creating a clear staff succession to ensure full business continuity and development opportunities.
• Review, develop and propose Ryvita Logistic strategy in harmony with total business plans, seeking both service and cost improvement.
• To lead and develop the Warehouse Team, ensuring we have robust control and procedures in place within a motivated workforce.
• Establish and develop appropriate KPI’s, including stock accuracy, damage, POD returns, warehouse utilisation, vehicle utilisation, cost to serve and budgetary measures.
• Actively develop own personal and professional skills, keeping up to date with EU/industry/market reforms, legislation, developments and changes
• Maintain a professional company image and ethical business standards, acting as an ambassador externally and within the Group.

Experience:

• Health & Safety Responsibility
• Experience of leading and developing an effective and efficient FMCG Warehouse Team
• People performance management and development
• Experience of effectively managing 3PL contracts, UK and International
• Experience of managing a budget >£500k
• Led cross functional teams to deliver significant project or objective.
• Evidence of delivering significant Service improvements
• Developed systems and processes to maintain best in class status
• International Purchasing experience
• Manufacturing management experience
• Involvement in acquisitions or integrations
• Managed and developed Managers
• Set up of contacts and SLA’s with suppliers
• Effectively managed matrix reporting lines

Skills:

• Significant knowledge of FIFO, MLOR· Knowledge of retailer requirements
• Good diversity management· Supplier Management, seek, select, terminate·
• High Level PC/Reporting skills.
• Negotiation skills
• MFG Pro/ Preactor knowledge

Education:

• NVQ Level 5/BTEC/HND level
• Recognised Warehouse/ Logistics Training
• Degree within Supply Chain subject
• Membership CILT
