This is an exciting time for an ambitious National Account Manager to a join a dynamic food business who have experienced growth in recent years and are enjoying continued expansion of their client base and product portfolio.

Job Description

Our client has a blue chip reputation with multiple sites, within a fast paced food manufacturing environment. They are a market leader producing branded and own-label household named food products.
Due to an internal promotion the business is looking for a National Account Manager, reporting into the Customer Director who wants to progress their career with a growth product category. My Client has a successful track record of career progression.

This role involves direct National Account Management responsibility for Marks and Spencer to achieve volume and contribution budgets agreed as part of the strategic objectives of the business. To positively progress the Company’s profit through the development of this account and being effective in providing effective support to the customer. You will have worked with this high profile retailer and understand their passion for food and the importance of quality ingredients and a innovation product range.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To achieve sales volume, pricing and contribution budgets.
  • To agree the future strategy business within customer based on the objectives agreed within the business.
  • To control promotional budgets within agreed levels whilst maximizing the Company and brand profile within his/her accounts.
  • To negotiate business and co-ordinate multi-level and multi-functional relationships, up to and including Director level
  • To drive the category management solutions in their accounts, to secure competitive advantage for business proposition.
  • Create and maintain budgeting, pricing, forecasting and promotional activities for their accounts.
  • To maximize in-store presence on fixture of all company products, including the planned introduction of new products within all of the accounts.
  • To integrate up-to-date knowledge of competitor and market developments into account plans and strategies.
  • Persistently improve personal skills and market knowledge.

A National Account Manager who has had commercial responsibility for a Marks and Spencer account for a food or FMCG product. Should be a focused and ambitious individual, having great Category Management, Selling and Negotiation skills, preferably from a chilled, short-shelf life background. Being a strong self starter, will have direct account management of a Major Retailer account, driving to build business with profitable growth, achieving sales volume, pricing and contribution budgets.The individual will be able to control promotional budgets, agreeing promotional strategy for the account.

Through strong category management solutions, the individual should be able to secure competitive advantage & maximise in-store presence on fixture & brand profile.We are looking for an individual with strong business values.
