Job Description

Our client has an impressive growth rate with International Site Operations. They are a market leader producing bulk and Retailer food products.

Due to an internal move the business is looking for a Plant Manager, reporting into the Managing Director who wants to progress their career with a growth product category. My Client can offer career progression.

Purpose of the job

To direct and manage the food production plant. The objective is to deliver consistent quality, to the required specification, at the agreed cost, in time, in full and to plan.

To lead the organisation by:

• Managing the external interfaces
• Translating external requirements and local needs in to organisational objectives
• Focus and align the Organisation to deliver its objectives.
• Providing the conditions for the Organisation to meet its objectives
• Providing a clear overview of the opportunities and constraints to the business
• Managing the performance of the Organisation
• Develop the Organisation
• Maintaining the Organisation’s assets· Ensuring continuity of operations
• Ensure uninterrupted service / supply to customers.
• Lead improvement programmes for manufacturing processes.

Educational attainment
Degree in Chemical/ Process Engineering or food industry scientific subject

Knowledge required
Fermentation technology, Health, safety and environment. GMP, QA and QC, Process improvement, engineering applications. Production planning. ER in a unionised environment

Experience required
Management experience in a unionised environment akin to the fermentation industry.

Skills and aptitudes required
Able to communicate at all levels, Strong analytical skills and good problem solving techniques. Plan, organise, delegate, control. Customer focused.

Personal qualities required
Conceptual and quick thinker, passionate to understand yeast, personal drive to succeed, challenges the status quo. Hands on approach and people orientated. Low cost focused.

Circumstances
Able to attend periods of training / development outside of the UK. – Critical and extensive during first 6 months.Willing to travel internationally as part of role. Able to work in the UK without restriction
