Job Description

This business is part of a multi-sited, multi-product food giant with sites all across the UK. They are innovation led and quality driven and are seen as market leaders in a number of areas. This specific site has undergone recent change with a positive outlook for the future. After our site visit and factory tour, I can thoroughly recommend this as a positive working environment that offers challenge and reward in equal amount. It has an excellent process flow and the scale of the factory is genuinely impressive. The business’s new structure offers excellent opportunity for career progression across a number of different areas.

This role is not a typical Production Manager position. This position is about providing clear direction to the operatives but more importantly, imparting researched and considered knowledge in the area of bakery processes. It will also be responsible for a substantial factory area of complex operational processes and will plan & organise resources and people to drive sustainable improvements on labour and materials. The candidate shall also be able to identify appropriate solutions to complex issues through logically analysing information in order to make the right decision whilst communicating clearly and concisely. Finally, you shall coordinate and review daily performance with the teams and look for areas of improvement.

These positions are based on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, with one on days and two on nights.

These positions require someone with a strong bakery know how and the ability to apply this knowledge into a fast paced manufacturing environment. In terms of a skill set the ideal candidate shall have strong communication skills to provide the operatives with direction and to improve operational efficiencies.

This recruitment project is running for two weeks (shortlist to be submitted early October 2011) and so if this appeals please apply now.
