Job Description
This business is part of a multi-sited, multi-product food giant with sites all across the UK. They are innovation led and quality driven and are seen as market leaders in a number of areas. This specific site has undergone recent change with a positive outlook for the future. After our site visit and factory tour, I can thoroughly recommend this as a positive working environment that offers challenge and reward in equal amount. To lead and manage a large hygiene team to ensure hygiene standards are met and the factory is handed back to operations in a timely manner with no compromise on food safety. Furthermore, the following is a list of must do duties for this Hygiene Shift Manager.
- Health & Safety checks
- All necessary paper work to be completed
- Communicate to all levels required
- Following daily work plan and be able to adjust accordingly it when necessary
- Control the quality of work to meet hygiene standards
- Be proactively looking for improvements to hygiene procedures and practices
- Conduct internal hygiene audits
- Ensure third party audit criteria are met and exceeded with no non compliances in their area of responsibility
- Participate in the writing of procedures for stripping down and cleaning equipment
- Training staff to procedure
- Document the shift handover and pass over to the oncoming shift.
Strong Hygiene Management skills are required for this position. Someone who has experience of people management (through Team Leaders) will be required and this role will also be responsible for the training of the team members. A comprehensive understanding of the hygiene processes, to enable the development of continuous performance improvement plans covering efficiency and quality will also be an added bonus. As this role is working in a chilled environment someone who understands micro issues will also be a big plus.
