Job Description

The client is at the vanguard of branded and own label sectors and is renowned for the success of its numerous business operations. This is a key senior management position and you will be expected to play a pivotal role in delivering competitive advantage through innovation. You will also ensure product development skills; processes and practices are fit for purpose.

Focused on innovation, the role also has responsibility for benchmarking and refining existing products whilst developing new products for both branded and own label propositions. You will lead the technical product development team ensuring that skills and processes are practices are fit for purpose. You will form strong working relationships with internal and external interests to facilitate effective team working and promote the free exchange of ideas and information.

As a senior player in the business you will assess the impact of short and medium term business strategy on the technical development team’s resource, skill set and supplier base. It is essential you can provide technical knowledge, guidance and support to the marketing team and project team for all products under development from concept development stage through to commercialisation. With strong marketing insight in place there is significant activity already from an NPD perspective, but there is an important role to play in contributing to blue sky thinking by proactively sharing external intelligence, technology advances and best practice methodology.
