Our client is a leading food manufacturer with some of the UK’s largest brands in its portfolio. This business is a household name and works with all the major UK retailers producing both own label and branded products. As Scientific Innovations Manager you will be responsible for providing scientific support to the business and specifically to the NPD team, delivering support with the application of scientific knowledge and techniques. You will be part of the technical services team, delivering a science and technology service to the wider company driving technical improvements, NPD projects and process capability increasing quality and safety. This role is all about leading the area of science and innovation for the department. A large part of this role will be managing projects from concept through to final delivery, collaborating with NPD, operations and technical colleagues at al levels so communication skills and the ability to manage relationships effectively is key.

To be considered for this opportunity you will be a scientist with a chemical engineering or biochemistry degree or equivalent. You will have a proven track record of successfully applying science to processes and development within a Blue Chip food manufacturing company.
