Due to a recent expansion, our client is looking to appoint a number of Shift Managers to help run the production teams within this new facility.

Job Description

The site based in West Lothian, supplies one of the UK’s major retailers with a range of short shelf life chilled food products. This site is one of Scotland’s leading food manufacturers and is part of a large chilled food manufacturing group. This is definitely a company that you would be proud to have on your CV!

The main remit of the role is to directly lead and manage a production team, to ensure that all health & safety, food safety, quality, efficiency and productivity targets are met.

You will organise and manage labour, equipment, materials and packaging within the shift / section to exceed agreed targets, whilst ensuring that food safety and product specifications are met. You will also constantly identify ways to deliver improved performance for production processes in productivity, throughput, equipment performance, product quality and materials utilisation. You must also actively develop those in your team with potential to progress from their current roles.

• Have the ability to lead and motivate a manufacturing team with a proactive style.
• Have a comprehensive understanding of the manufacturing process, enabling the implementation and development of continuous performance improvement plans covering efficiency and quality.
• Have the ability to communicate, influence and build relationships, cross-functionally at all business levels.
