We have just been briefed with a Senior Materials Controller position with a global corporate food & drink manufacturing business in the South East.

The Senior Material Controller has the responsibility of being an expert on supply systems and how the activities of the factory are managed. The role requires close coordination with the Team Leaders, Shift operators, Finance and Logistics to ensure that all supply systems are accurate. The role then uses this information to lead projects which focus on performance improvement and champion the understanding of supply systems to support improvement workstreams. In addition, line management of the material controllers will be part of this position.

We are looking for someone who has:

• Excellent standards of numeracy and literacy to at least A level
• A strong communicator with a demonstrated ability to relate to people at all levels from a variety of backgrounds and to confront difficult and challenging situations as required.
• A manufacturing background with an understanding of principles of Lean Manufacturing and basic technical skills
• A technical understanding of production systems is a must; experience working with SAP in a key user role is highly desirable
