Job Description

Our Client is a major UK retailer based in the South East renowned for it’s high standards and consumer appeal. They are recognised in the industry as being leaders in packaging innovation and design.

As Senior Packaging Technologist you will support the businesses strategy and ensure the brand values and maintained, delivering safe packaging that meets legal requirements and pushes the boundaries on innovation. You will develop links with suppliers, ensuring they have an excellent understanding of the quality management system. As the lead packaging technologist you will be responsible for developing a long term packaging innovation agenda for the business to maintain competitive advantage. You will work closely with NPD colleagues ensuring the packaging innovation plan coincides with the wider business innovation agenda. As the business packaging expert you will manage the packaging strategy and set direction on Ethical Trading Standards and work with individual categories on better buying opportunities for packaging.

To be considered for this exciting opportunity you must have a formal qualification in a materials or packaging related discipline with a broad technical knowledge of food packaging and specialist materials. A good knowledge of the printing process for all types of packaging is desirable as is general knowledge of packaging process methods.
