We have just been briefed with a newly created Hygiene Manager role with a large scale food manufacturing business in the South Lincolnshire area.

Job Description

This business is part of a multi-sited, multi-product food giant with sites all across the UK. They are innovation led and quality driven and are seen as market leaders in a number of areas. This specific site has an enviable position in the marketplace and after my site visit and factory tour, I can thoroughly recommend this as a positive working environment. It has a well-regarded product offering and an excellent working relationship with its customers.

This is a new position created to facilitate to continual improvement of this premium manufacturing facility.

The key responsibilities include:·

• Recruiting and developing all Hygiene staff
• Ensure cleaning practices deliver Continuous Improvement through the achievement of department objectives / KPI’s
• Accountability for departmental budget
• Ensure all cleaning standards are maintained at agreed levels
• To maintain all external areas of Hygiene responsibility to agreed levels
• To Support and develop a culture where individuals feel well informed and able to challenge the status quo

We are looking for candidates who have first and foremost a strong Hygiene Management background within the food industry. As this role will be a new position you will need strong management skills and should know what hygiene best practise looks like. From a technical point of view, you should have an awareness of H&S + COSHH, plus ideally chemical training, micro knowledge, auditing skills and an understanding of HACCP.
