Job Description

Our client is a vertically integrated food company operating across a number of categories, producing award winning products for the leading UK retailers. It has an impressive reputation and continues to go from strength to strength through a combination of growth and acquisition. The business is seeking to recruit a highly talented Supply Chain Director to drive through a demanding change programme to one of its key divisions in the East Midlands.

Reporting into the Divisional Managing Director, as Supply Chain Director your key remit will be design and implement a new supply chain function for this multi-site business. You will need to conduct a health check across all areas particularly focussing on planning, raw materials, SOP and forecasting initially. You will also be tasked with the management of a small team that you will need to meld into a cohesive unit, making them fully integrated into the daily life of operations. A large portion of their stock is held off site, so experience of dealing with 3rd party storage is an absolute must.

We are looking for a Supply Chain Director who has operated at a similar level within the food manufacturing arena and has a demonstrable proven track record of building sustained supply chains previously, ideally from a zero base. You will need to be a self-starter, have well developed project management skills and be a confident communicator both internally and externally at all levels. Attention to detail, along with the ability to see the bigger picture are Must Haves, along with an outgoing personality as you will be one of the key leaders within the division. The role should lead onto greater things within the group over time and as such drive, ambition and a desire to succeed are paramount. However you will need to be prepared to operate at the front line as and when appropriate.
