Engineering Section Manager - Food Manufacturing

We have just been briefed with a newly created Engineering Section Manager role with a large-scale food manufacturing business in the South Lincolnshire area.

Job Description

This business is part of a multi-sited, multi-product food giant with sites all across the UK. They are innovation led and quality driven and are seen as market leaders in a number of areas. This specific site has an enviable position in the marketplace and after my site visit and factory tour, I can thoroughly recommend this as a positive working environment. It has a well-regarded product offering and an excellent working relationship with its customers.

This positions key focus will be to effectively plan the maintenance of the factory and improve performance of the plant and engineering team through management of Engineering Section Leaders and their teams. You shall work closely with production and other functions to meet the overall needs of the business through proactive day-to-day activity and project work.

Other responsibilities include:

• To pro-actively manage Health & Safety
• Training & Development of the team
• Supervision of maintenance costs & maintain and improve stores systems· Managing through use of KPIs
• Quality Standards

We are looking for candidates who have proven engineering based experience at a management level holding recognised engineering qualifications. This experience should come in the form of day-to-day management of an Engineering team within a FMCG environment and preferably in food manufacturing. You will have excellent computer skills – including experience in using ‘best of breed’ systems/ software.
