Job Description


Our client has a blue chip reputation with multiple sites, within a fast paced food manufacturing environment. They are a market leader producing branded and own-label household named food products.

Purpose of Job

  • Deliver the product brand and KPIs through excellent development & execution of plans and active engagement in the S&OP process
  • Deliver the marketing launch and ongoing management of new brand
  • Create 3 year marketing plans for the development brands portfolio
  • To provide support to the commercial teams (particularly Major Retailers) in developing & delivering the retailer plans and to be approval contact for all consumer facing activity
  • The role holder will need to build strong relationships with a broad group of stakeholders, including Commercial, Retailers, the Operations and packing sites.
  • It is an influential role and the role holder will need to champion these fledging brands throughout the business.
  • The role reports into the Head of Marketing, but is fairly autonomous and requires someone who can lead the thinking on the strategy.
  • Formal Monthly meetings with their key internal suppliers (Sales, Manufacturing and Customer Marketing).
  • Performance vs. budget and specific project timetables / Critical path management
  • Progress of on-going projects (incl NPD)
  • To exchange ideas, which will drive, forward future sales and distribution growth.
  • Monthly meetings with Supply Chain, Finance, Operations, Purchasing, Sales and Marketing
  • Ongoing management of 3rd party Agencies
  • Key retailer contacts in NPD and central buying

Knowledge & Experience Required

  • Graduate or of graduate ability
  • Strategic Thinking
  • Excellent commercial understanding & ability to make sound recommendations
  • Good knowledge of brand building including advertising development
  • Knowledge and experience of NPD and product development
  • Presentation skills – able to fluently and clearly present plans and recommendations
  • Strong Project management skills – planning and prioritisation
  • Experience of consumer research, both qualitative and quantitative
  • People management skills
  • Be an effective leader
  • Passion, energy, drive
  • Proactive and willing to take initiative
  • Ability to deal with pressure and manage multiple tasks
  • Team Worker with good interpersonal skills
