Job Description

Our client is a highly regarded and expanding food manufacturing group producing an impressive range of products found in most retailers and has an outstanding management team. Its commitment to further growth, through the development of not only highly innovative products but also through its people, is commendable and gives them an enviable reputation in the market place. Due to organic growth and to support the drive for operational excellence our client is now looking to further strengthen the senior team through the appointment of a Head of Manufacturing.

As Head of Manufacturing your primary remit will be to ensure that all products are produced in a safe manner and to the correct high quality standards, leading and directing the factory team to deliver a comprehensive operational plan. You will do this by driving manufacturing performance through a range of demanding KPIs that encompass supply chain, engineering, product quality and embedded continuous improvement. You will have full autonomy over the operational functions within the business to achieve this.

You will be degree qualified or equivalent, coming from a food manufacturing background and will be operating in a similar senior operations role within a fast moving and demanding environment. You will have proven CI & Lean skills and can demonstrate sustainable achieved savings and improvements using these tools. We are seeking somebody with a ‘hands-on’ management style with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and the ability to lead from the front.
However you must be able to balance this with people empowerment initiatives through which the team has a range of comprehensive personal development plans for skills growth. A full understanding of the financial implications of operating at this level is an absolute must, along with a keen eye for the balance sheet.
