Job Description

Our client, based in the East Midlands, supplies into a large number of retail & foodservice clients with a highly regarded product offering. It is looking for a Product Development Manager who has managed the critical path and has worked cross-functionally to ensure timely delivery of products with a strong innovative, creative flair.

You will be tasked with managing projects and be a self-starting individual who can work with minimal supervision and prioritise effectively. You will have the confidence, from your experience and knowledge of the food industry, to work in tandem with the supply base, developing new products ensuring the end result provides the consumer with an attractive, innovative product. The successful applicant will be responsible for further developing the current range and delivering new and highly innovative products to the market.

You will liaise with the Commercial Manager and Customer to manage the NPD process for the product grouping & innovate and develop new products to give the desired margin to the customer and the business. You will also be an inclusive and engaging manager able to empower more junior members of the NPD Team. You will need to propose clear briefs and ensure at all times you are of aware of the critical path working towards specific launch windows. Working collaboratively with the supply base you will identify new business opportunities.

You will deliver products in accordance with the set business strategy, responding to customer insights, trend information and competitor activity. Combined with this you will need to be passionate about food, innovative focused and systematic, a careful planner with an eye for detail.
