We have just been briefed with a Senior NPD Technologist role with a large-scale food manufacturing business in the South Lincolnshire area.

Job Description

This business is part of a multi-sited, multi-product food giant with sites all across the UK. They are innovation led and quality driven and are seen as market leaders in a number of areas. This specific site has an enviable position in the marketplace and after my site visit and factory tour, I can thoroughly recommend this as a positive working environment. It has a well-regarded product offering and an excellent working relationship with its customers.

You shall support the NPD process for their category/customer by liaising with the customer and internal teams. You will also support the innovation and development of new products to deliver the required margin whilst meeting both the customer and business needs.

Key responsibilities include:

• Innovate new products and processes in response to customer briefs to maintain and grow a creative catalogue of products for our customers
• To motivate and inspire direct reports up to Development Technologist level to achieve personal development and continual improvement.
• Manage focused development of new products to deliver the required margin for our customers and the business
• Presents new product and process facts and ideas clearly, accurately and persuasively to customers internally and externally and cross functionally
• Monitors and benchmarks product quality of new and existing products and raises issues with Development Manager

We are looking for candidates who have Degree in food science or equivalent or alternatively someone with technologist experience within a food business. You should have sound food knowledge / understanding. You will also be able to work concurrently on multiple projects with a willingness to work on own or as a part of a multi disciplined project team.
