Job Description

As Food Safety Expert for Mars, you are responsible for ensuring food safety at the four European Mars sites of the Food business and within the Food R&D departments, location Oud-Beijerland (The Netherlands).

Position

·         Responsible for ensuring food safety at the four European Mars sites of the Food business and within the Food R&D departments

·         Contributing to the implementation of innovation projects, as representative of the Quality & Food Safety team

·         Delivering food safety expertise during incident/crisis management, to support HACCP implementation and for continuous improvements

·         Delivering basic level food safety competency to the European Food sites

·         Participating in and leading various internal and external quality projects, in order to improve the overall quality

·         Building and maintaining a range of internal and external networks and recognition to ensure up-to-date understanding of expertise

·         Member of the QA team and reporting to the Quality and Food Safety Manager Food Group

 

Profile

·         Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Science or Technology, with specialisation in Food Safety

·         Relevant work experience, preferably within a QA or R&D environment

·         Strong quality mindset and good knowledge about HACCP and microbiological risk assessment

·         Challenged by working in a professional, dynamic and international organisation 

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

·         Fit with Mars culture and the specific job competences: pro-active, problem solving, decision quality, standing alone, priority setting, learning agility and perseverance
