Job Description

Nutricima is a high quality food manufacturer and distributor of dairy and nutritional products, based in Lagos, Nigeria. The company is a 50/50 joint venture between the Irish multinational Glanbia (www.glanbia.com) and the UK multinational PZ Cussons (www.pzcussons.com). The joint venture has revenue of over USD 120 million, employs over 250 staff and has a world class manufacturing plant. A further major new factory will be completed in Q4, 2008. Nutricima supplies evaporated milk and milk powder to the local Nigerian market. Glanbia brings knowledge of the operation of world class food plants and food innovation, while PZ Cussons has over a century of experience in trading in Nigeria. For this international joint venture we are searching for a :

Technical & Quality Manager
Senior technical professional who is excited by a big international challenge in Nigeria
Salary (of which a large proportion will be tax free) c.£57,000-£65,000 plus pension, flights home, house, cook/steward, car driver health plan.


Position
·Responsible for the Technical & Quality function of the business, ensuring that Nutricima products are manufactured and marketed according to the highest possible standards and at the lowest cost
·Managing and supporting the Technical and Quality team
·Ensuring that all food materials and ingredients used, manufactured and distributed comply with international best practice food industry standards
·Ensuring that all processes, technologies and methodologies are designed and operating within the required quality standards and cost parameters
·Developing and implementing the Nutricima Quality System (NQS) in line with the Glanbia Quality System (GQS)
·Taking ownership for smooth implementation of new product introductions and changes to existing products and processes
·Working closely with Operations and Finance functions to ensure that factory performance and output requirements are met on time, to specification and within budget
·Reporting to the Operations Director of Nutricima

Skills and experience
·Bachelor's or Master's degree in food science, food technology or a similar field
·Senior level work experience in technical and quality positions in the food industry, preferably with affinity to dairy products
·Knowledge of international quality, health and food safety standards
·Challenged by applying relevant work experience in an international setting
·Strong communication skills, with fluency in English and preferably other languages
·Personal skills: pro-active, analytical, team leadership, convincing, drives for results, flexible, self starter and a team player
