Job Description

As Senior Project Manager for NIZO, you are responsible for managing and executing research projects and initiating new projects in close cooperation with industrial clients and the internal organisation, location Food Valley - Ede (The Netherlands).

NIZO food research develops and applies technologies in the field of flavour, texture, processing and health & safety. NIZO also helps manufacturers to lower costs by optimizing and redesigning their processes by carrying out test productions using their unique food-grade pilot-plant and through applying product-process simulation software. To strengthen the processing division we are currently searching for an entrepreneurial Senior Project Manager.

 

Position

  • Responsible for managing and executing research projects and initiating new projects in close cooperation with industrial clients and the internal organisation
  • Leading a team of 4-5 Project Leaders and Scientific Experts
  • Providing customer benefits like process optimisations, quality improvements and cost efficiencies through applying predictive computer models 
  • Supporting customers in the field of computer modelling and the application of product-process simulation software in food production
  • Contributing to maintain a high level of science and application know how in the division Processing
  • Following market trends and translating these into opportunities in cooperation with Business Development Management
  • Working closely together with national and international customers; visiting, assessing the needs and wishes, discussing progress of projects and presenting the results
  • Working in multidisciplinary teams and reporting to the Division Manager Processing

 

Profile

  • Master’s degree in Processing Technology, Chemical Engineering, possibly with an additional PhD degree or a similar background
  • Several years of relevant work experience and affinity with predictive models for industrial food production processes 
  • Able to translate academic knowledge into industrial applications
  • Capable of managing and initiating processes and projects at the interface of customers and the internal organisation
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Personal skills: proactive, networker, convincing, creative, customer focus, pragmatic and solution driven
