Quality Assurance Manager

Job Description

As Quality Assurance Manager, you are responsible for continuously monitoring the quality performance and ensuring product compliance with national and international quality standards certification systems, regulations and legislation, location Amsterdam (The Netherlands).

Company

Our customer is an international trading and agribusiness company with strong roots in Europe and South America. Their headquarters are in the western part of The Netherlands and they are a globally operating group, providing services and solutions in the field of commodity origination, processing, logistics and trading. The agricultural products are sourced in the major producing areas worldwide and sold to customers around the globe. They have recently established a subsidiary company that will trade in agricultural ingredients intended for food, feed and industrial applications. For this new position contributing to their expanding business, we are currently searching a highly motivated Quality Assurance Manager.

Position

• Responsible for continuously monitoring the quality performance and ensuring product compliance with national and international quality standards certification systems, regulations and legislation
• Setting up quality assurance objectives, ensuring targets are achieved maintaining awareness of the business context and company profitability
• Being the facilitator with respect to quality matters both for sourcing partners, customers as well as the internal organization
• Cooperating with purchasing staff to establish quality requirements with external partners and set product specifications, assure alignment with customer requirements
• Team up with sourcing partners on factory audits and assisting in implementation of corrective actions
• Collaborating with customer auditors, ensure follow up and compliance with customer specifications, take care of customer complaints
• Promoting quality policies and procedures, make sure these are understood and embedded in the organisation, identify quality related training needs and provide these trainings
• Working closely together with purchasing staff and traders
• Reporting to Business Unit Manager

Profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree Food Technology, Quality Management or alike    
• Several years of experience in quality management in an international environment
• Entrepreneur who understands the business dynamics in trading agricultural commodity products
• Willing to travel internationally
• Knowledge of internationally established quality and certification systems and international legislation and regulations
• Strong communicator in Dutch and English, both internal as well as externally
• Skills: integrity, result driven, taking initiatives, enthusiastic, self starter, solution driven, stress tolerant, flexible
