Junior Development Chef

Job Description

This is a great opportunity for a Chef looking for a first step into Product Development within a food manufacturing environment.  As the Junior Development Chef there will be lots of training and support from an experienced team.  Ideally you will have had a number of years kitchen experience, have developed excellent awareness and understanding of ingredients; seasonality and provenance and have developed an understanding food trends past, and present.  You will need to be recognisably passionate about food, a team player who will work will with others, and be open and receptive to others ideas.  Patience and tenacity will be needed to settle into a completely new working environment.

You will learn about the complete development process from brief though to launch, working on the bench developing ideas, taking part in comparative shopping trips, and gaining an understanding of product presentations and factory process.  You will work from brief and blue sky, offering support and inspiration, drawing from your own culinary experience and through further research. You'll need to have good time management, be able to work to deadlines and be a self starter with excellent interpersonal skills and a degree of computer literacy. You must be able to drive.
