Job Description

Junior Development Chef required.  No more split shifts!  If you still love cooking and developing recipe ideas but are hacked off with the rigours of a conventional kitchen environment Food New Product Development could be the ideal career step.  We are seeking a Chef with City & Guilds / NVQ Food qualifications and relevant kitchen experience to make a step change into Food Product Development.

Our client is well respected in the wider food industry and will offer training and support to a Chef who will work with passion and pride, able to transfer their culinary talents to a new environment, willing to learn all aspects of developing within a factory environment.  Working alongside a Senior NPD Chef developing traditional products for leading retail clients, you will need to be able to work in an organised and methodical manner, prioritising workloads delivering to set time plans and accurately record information on IT systems.

Key Accountabilities

·         Develop products that deliver innovation and / or meet the brief set by the customer

·         Complete regular reviews to ensure up to date with competitor and current food tends

·         Learn how to cost products and work within set commercial parameters

·         Produce product samples for customer presentations considering factory capabilities

·         Share food knowledge and passion for exploring new product opportunities

·         A willingness to learn and a determination to succeed – aiming to develop products right first time
