Quality Manager (Technical Manager Designate)

Job Description

Our client is a well established major foods manufacturer based in the South West area supplying some of the key major food multiples. They now require an enthusiastic and highly motivated Quality or Technical Manager to manage a team of four and drive quality standards forward within the site, to ensure the highest levels of product quality and customer satisfaction.

The role would very much suit either a food industry experienced Quality Manager or Technical Manager with a highly positive approach to daily activity and life in general. Specific chilled foods experience is not essential as candidates from other food and drink backgrounds will be welcomed if they have the prerequisite 'up beat' outlook to their work activity.

Reporting to the Operations Director, who will provide considerable training, mentoring and support to develop you into the role, your tasks will include the following;

·Assessing and delivering both suppliers and own company's product specifications and customer requirements.
·Ensuring compliance with national and international standards.
·Setting up and maintaining controls and documentation, including HACCP.
·Ensuring tests, procedures and evaluations are properly understood and carried out and that product modifications are investigated as necessary.
·Working methodically to improve the Quality Management System and its application.
·Ensuring delivery of all site technical objectives and KPIs.
·Bringing together staff of different disciplines and driving the group to formulate and agree comprehensive quality procedures which can subsequently be owned by the production team.
·Assessing the complaint analysis and instigating a through investigation process in order to resolve customer concerns.
·Acting as a key contact with customers' auditors; responsible for ensuring execution of corrective actions and ongoing compliance with customers' specifications and Codes of Practice.
·Team management.
·Forming and building relationships with the production department and other key teams on site.
·BRC management and implementation.
