Job Description

This would be the ideal first step into NPD if you are a Chef who has a solid back ground, with sustained periods of employment in good quality kitchens and have reached at least Sous Chef level. We are particularly interested in Chefs who have worked in trend setting restaurants. You will need to possess a broad food knowledge, with excellent culinary and organisational skills, with a real passion and enthusiasm for all aspects of food. This could be the next step of your culinary career path, moving on from hotel and restaurant kitchens utilising your years of cooking and transferring into a completely new environment influencing the food offer on major retail shelves. Ideally you will be classically trained, experienced in cooking methods and techniques, however, we are looking for a Chef that is up to date with current and emerging trends, able to deliver fabulous fresh clean flavours drawing on world influences. Your forte is likely to be larder and main kitchen. You will need to be personally well groomed in order to present to customers, level headed, patient and receptive to others ideas with a determination to succeed, be persuasively credible, sharing and engaging others with your passion and experiences with food. This is an opportunity to use your culinary talents and expertise to really make a difference developing chilled products for major retail clients working with factory and process teams to deliver high quality products.

A degree of computer literacy would be a distinct advantage as you will be required to accurately record information, and produce presentations. Car driver essential.
