Category Manager

Job Description

As Category Manager you will deliver the Category Plan working with the Commercial Director and Business Managers to devise and implement category strategies and plans in order to achieve budgeted sales and profit targets. In addition to your expertise in the analysis of market data (TNS/Neilsen/Dun Hunby) you will have worked closely with the retailers and be confident in managing this element of the relationships. You will know your category and be able to advised on product positions, where you sit amongst the competition and how to drive revenue streams.

You will have a successful background of category development with at least one of the major multiples having developed a category and being instrumental in it's success. The ability to manage a number of projects and prioritise the demands of various retail clients is essential. A strong business awareness understanding the function of commercial, innovation and manufacturing and how to manage this against the needs, demands and constraints affecting the customer is vital.

Having a category management background in food or FMCG is a given for this role. You must also be a highly motivated and driven individual ideally educated to degree level or equivalent. Passion, personality and presence are also essential to make a positive and valuable contribution to the success of our client.
