Multinational Company leader in production and trading of a wide range of raw materials for human and animal feeding:
Job location: Anywhere in Europe (Spain, France, Belgium, Netherlands, UK, Germany, Italy).
Role Purpose Statement
Analyze statistical information and conduct research on feed markets and meat products in order to anticipate/identify important changes in the European Consumption patterns and to support a wide range of business decisions from capital investments to short-medium-long term trading strategies.
Key Interfaces: Internal - External
Agribusiness Directors, PL managers (grains and protein), grain traders, protein traders, customers, farmers, feed compounder, meat processors, associations.
Main Accountabilities Key Performance Indicators
- Feed and meat market analysis, production & consumption forecast and industry margins, in order to identify changes in trends as early as possible.
- Develop feed formulation models. Run scenarios and stress tests.
- Conduct research and carry out market surveys with production of management reports.
- Develop and maintain an S&D database of animal populations, unit feed consumption, meat trade, price history, formulations, etc.
- Investigate and apply forecasting techniques to evaluate patterns of supply and demand; statistical, econometric, sensitivity analyses applied to problems of consumption and production patterns such as determining the elasticity’s of supply and demand as determined by evolution of macro economic factors.
- Carry out ad-hoc surveys, analyses, reports, charts, etc. on request from management & traders.
- Provide professional guidance and support to internal and external customers.
- Validate the accuracy and appropriateness of the data used and ensure relevance and high quality of reports and analysis.
- Initiate, build and maintain relations with a variety of institutions in order to obtain the best and most up to date statistical information on meat market and feed practices
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
- Master degree.
- Nutritionist / Scientist background with strong mathematics, statistics or econometrics skills.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in feed or meat industries.
- Understanding of commodity or livestock trading mechanisms.
- Strong computer skills in Excel and Database Management.
- Large network of industry contacts.
- Preference given to candidates with feed purchasing / meat production background.
