Looking for jobs?
As a job seeker you will probably know that looking for jobs isn't always that easy. Here we're going to give you a few tips on how to go about your job search.
Tips for looking for jobs:
1. Job boards are a good place to start. They tend to have hundreds of jobs in most locations, and will more than likely have a useful search facility to find exactly what you're looking for.
2. Use Niche Job sites when looking for jobs. Whilst generic job boards can be useful, the results can often be overwhelming. Check the Focus Management website - our niche is in food and drink manufacturing, and we're putting new vacancies on to our website every day. In fact, we've just revamped our whole suite of websites to make job searching easier for you.
3. Set job application targets - 'I am going to spend 1 hour every evening job searching and 1 hour applying'. You can avoid delaying your job search by setting targets and timeframes to work to.
4. Plan and log everything you do. Whether on MS Word, Excel or on paper - log all the jobs you have applied for, your progress, the date you applied on, the log-in details of the application website. You'll find this much easier to organise yourself and to meet any job application targets you may set - this will make looking for jobs more structured and productive.
5. Contact your Consultant - if you've been in touch with a Consultant at Focus Management before, contact them to let them know you are back on the job market. You never know, they may have a role of interest to you.
There are hundreds of jobs on the market; even in times of a
recession there are always interesting jobs around.
We've always had vacancies here at Focus Management and the number
of jobs on our website continues to rise. We're always a first port
of call when it comes to looking for jobs - our brand new website
makes job searching even easier for you. Click to start looking for
jobs in the food industry.
We're keen to keep moving forward, that's why were working on a
'jobs by email' feature for our new site. This will mean you won't
have to go looking for jobs as you'll be able to specify the type
of jobs you are looking for and get them straight to your email
inbox. Be sure to check back in Feb 2011 when we're due to add this
in.
