Harry Hill's peanut butter aids smallholder peanut farmers
Harry Hill's range of Fairtrade peanut butter will be available in Sainsbury's from July.
Harry's Nuts! is a brand of nut products developed by Harry Hill and Liberation Foods to enable Malawi peanut farmers to sell their crops in the UK for a fair price. Harry is a keen supporter of Fairtrade nuts and makes no profit from his involvement.
The peanut butter will be sold in 190 Sainsbury's stores at £1.99. Other products in the Harry's Nuts! range include extra roasted Fairtrade salted peanuts and cashews which are already available in Sainsbury's, as well as in Waitrose and Tesco.
Liberation Foods was established to help smallholder nut farmers out of poverty by giving them a fair price for their crops. It was set up with backing from Comic Relief, and is owned by farming organisations and ethical investors to aid farmers.
Harry Hill commented;
"It's great news that Sainsbury's are stocking my Harry's Nuts!
"Peanut Butter - I crush all the nuts myself with specially adapted hob nail boots. It's the only way I can get that lovely crunchy texture."
