New one portion of fruit bakes go ahead!
New go ahead! Fruit Bakes by United Biscuits (UBUK), which will be available in July, will contain one portion of fruit per bake.
The new packaging will display the portion of fruit message in a bold yellow flash with a red apple featuring the "New Recipe". The portion of fruit claim has increased the motivation of consumers and also driven interest in non-buyers, consumer research has revealed.
As well as including one portion of fruit, the bar only has 131 calories, appealing to both the health conscious and the slimming consumer.
The new launch sees the addition of a cherry flavoured bar to the range. The complete range now consists of: Raspberry, Strawberry, Apple, Apple and Blackcurrant, and new Cherry. The bakes are available in boxes of six Fruit Bakes at an MRRP of £2.85.
Brand Director, go ahead! at UBUK, Matthew Brown commented;
"go ahead! is all about great tasting snacks that consumers can feel good about eating and adding a portion of fruit to each bake simply builds on this core proposition.
"We're confident that this innovation will appeal to fans of the go ahead! range but also attract new consumers helping to drive sales for retailers and grow the UK's No.1 Healthier biscuit brand, which is currently worth £58m.
"Retailers should therefore make sure they stock up on the all new go ahead! Fruit Bakes range and capitalise on consumers' desire to seek out better for you products."
