Ribena Sparkling – new launch in the soft drinks market

Ribena has unveiled a new addition to the soft drinks market.

Heavy investment in new product development has resulted in a new sparkling version of Ribena, available in Blackcurrant and Raspberry.

The launch of the new product is hoped to boost sales whilst drawing attention to the already popular Ribena brand.

Promoters hope to match the £2 million of sales that still Ribena took in the first year of it's launch - a media-wide advertising campaign is due to launch in May this year to promote the new product. The advertising of these new products makes up some of the £11 million worth of advertising Ribena plan to spend on marketing their brand throughout 2011 - no doubt some of this expenditure will be given to social media and the likes of Facebook and Twitter.

This successful drink manufacturer is no stranger to new product development, as in 2007 it launched the Raspberry flavoured Ribena drink - a unique twist on it's very popular Blackcurrant drink.
