Scratch Meals now available in Sainsburys

A new range of ready meals, Scratch Meals, is to be stocked in Sainsburys this month.

The meals are made up of measured raw ingredients allowing consumers to prepare the meal using just a pan and a spoon. The range is already available at Fortnum & Mason and Whole Foods and retail an a RRP of £4.99. The range currently includes the following meals; Chicken & Chorizo Jambalaya, Lamb Provençal, Malaysian King Prawn Noodles and Moroccan Chicken Tagine.
Alex Neves and Phil Pinell developed the range over 2 years and have enlisted the help of Michelin starred chef Michel Roux to create the recipes.
Phil Pinnell commented:
"From our market research and personal experience, we know there is a real appetite to cook using fresh ingredients and there is also a genuine gap in the market for people who lead busy lifestyles but don't want a ready meal or take-away, particularly after a long day at the office.
"For those who do not have the time to prepare and cook meals every night, Scratch is an affordable solution with all the taste and satisfaction of a home cooked dish."
