New Sainsbury’s store to create 400 jobs
Up to 400 jobs are said to be created, Sainsbury's said earlier this week, when they open their new store in Longbridge. The 85k square foot store, costing £1 billion, will become a key employer in the Longbridge area, proving key to the areas economy.
The Sainsbury's store comes as part of an investment project in
Longbridge that will see nearly 25 new stores and restaurants
created.
Sainsbury's said in a statement that they were glad to be bringing
jobs to the area and are committed to bringing good value food to
the local community.
A major food store such as Sainsbury's has been said to be the
'final touch' to the development in the area, and Longbridge has
been waiting for a supermarket to put it's stamp on the
location.
Local councillors are delighted with the development, if not only
because it brings a significant number of jobs to the area.
The new-build store will also have nearly 500 car parking spaces.
The store is expected to be opening sometime in spring 2013, should
no barriers be hit in terms of planning permission and legal
aspects.
