The Bakkavor site Exotic Farm Produce has announced there could be over 100 redundancies.
Bakkavor are an Icelandic company and are currently the leading food manufacturing business in the UK.
Following a recent announcement of closure, the loss of jobs looks more likely as the Lincolnshire based food processing facility has stated that its staff may need to find other employment due to the planned closure of the site.
The company entered a Consultation period earlier this month, with 90 days to look at alternatives. It is expected that if the closure is to go ahead, the ex- Exotic Farm Produce employees may be able to secure jobs at the other Bakkavor sites within Lincolnshire.
The closure has come about following three main factors - reduced sales in general, rising costs due to inflation and fuel prices, and the loss of a major contract.
